In the world of today, anxiety is not uncommon. Since these are stressful times we live in, this is bound to catch up with us sometimes. Whether we are dealing with it at work, at home, or with our friends and family – anxiety can be induced by multiple factors.
That being said, if you leave the nervousness and anxiety untreated, it can lead to a number of problems that are bigger than anything you have experienced before. This is why practising self-love and self-care is becoming a popular trend among many people. In essence, they are the two key aspects to maintaining an overall healthier self. 1. Getting to know the issue
Do you know how people say that the first thing toward getting rid of an issue is admitting that you have one? The same thing goes here. Stop, and take some time to reflect on what your life has looked like in the last period. If a feeling of stress and uneasiness wash over you, then it might be time to consider this behaviour an issue. Find the root of this emotion and acknowledge it.
2. Changing the space
Once you realise that you are dealing with a wave of anxiety, the first thing is to try to deal with it. Some people recommend deep breathing exercises, others even recommend lying down on the ground. But at times, we can’t do either of these things since we can barely control our bodies. Well, in this case, the one thing that can help is removing yourself from the space where the anxiety is happening. Change the room or go to your yard or balcony. Let some fresh air into your lungs. It will do you good. Then, try to breathe deeply – imagine that you are inhaling peace and exhaling anxiety.
3. Sleep regulations
Anxiety can sometimes be a product of a poor sleeping pattern. It seems like these two are strongly connected, so let’s take a look.
Sleep is critical if you want to maintain your optimal well-being. This is why it is important to establish a sleeping pattern. This pattern should not only commit to those regular 8 hours of sleep but should also focus on having the amount of sleep you need within reasonable hours. For example, don’t try to expect anything else but anxiety from a sleeping pattern that encourages you to fall asleep in the middle of the night and wake up in the afternoon the following day. Notice your sleeping pattern. If you feel like something is wrong, focus on that bit.
No matter what the cause is, stress and anxiety are always going to surround us. And that is okay.
