Things To Do Across Canada for Labour Day Long Weekend

Labour Day is once again right around the corner. Thinking about how to spend the last days of summer can become a strenuous task. Sometimes there are plenty of options, other times it seems like there are no options at all. If you are in Canada and don’t have ideas about how to spend it, you have landed in the right place.

Let’s take a look at some things you can do during the Labour Day long weekend.

1.      Play golf – this has become a favourite pastime for people all around the world. The vast array of golf courses in Canada is there to help you enhance the entire experience. Whether you pick an urban or a nature-infused course, the choice is all yours. Make sure to book in advance and enjoy your weekend golfing!

2.      Camping – if you are feeling extremely outdoorsy, you can make a reservation at one of the many parks across Canada for Labour Day. A long weekend calls for a beautiful campsite, especially ones that include waterfront views. This is an excellent way to get the most out of the last summer weekend since you will experience the blissful beauty of nature.

3.      Fishing – serenity makes it easy. If you feel like you want to have a calmer weekend, then fishing might be the best option for you. Lake Ontario, St. Lawrence River, Howe Island and Wolfe Island are just a small portion of the options available to you. All you need to do is choose a destination with your friends, and get ready. If you opt for fishing, then remember to have a valid Outdoor Card and follow all fishing regulations.

4.      Visit a museum – moving on from nature into the city, you can always visit a museum. There are plenty of museums that can capture your attention and captivate you. You can learn about history and have a great time. This is an excellent pastime for those who are not keen on travelling the great outdoors.

5.      Wine tour – finally, Labour Day is a terrific time to go and experience the local food and wine. There are plenty of tours that you can take, and the winemakers are always first on the list. If you want to have a more intimate experience, you can take a self-guided tour of the growing wine community. Don’t forget to take a person with you that will be the designated driver!

As you can see, there is always something to do around Labour Day. Whether it is an outside activity where you soak up the grandeur of nature or drive through the wine regions, the options are endless. Gather your friends and have a look at all the options. Talk it through and see which one would fit you the most. Make any plans and reservations on time and enjoy your weekend.
